Hop farming is little known in Catalonia. We have been assessing the very first field of hop in Catalonia, which is located in the town of Crespià (Girona). It is also the first hop production based on regenerative agriculture across Europe and this has allowed for greater profitability in the production of hop flowers as well as an optimal plant health.

The average production per plant has been 250 grams of dry hop, which corresponds to a somewhat higher production than expected, according to theoretical data referenced in existing bibliography in conventional productions.

Next year we are going to triple the assessed surface and hope to get the same good results as in this year’s crop.
